ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Coaching and Mentoring International recognises that it has a responsibility to operate with regard to the sustainability of the natural environment.

Legislation & Compliance

We comply with relevant environmental legislation. Where no legislation exists, or where compliance is not compulsory within the market sectors in which we operate, we aim to implement appropriate internal standards which, as a minimum, meet appropriate legislative standards.

Sourcing

We undertake responsible sourcing for all its purchased products. In environmental terms, this includes, but is not limited to:

  • Assessing the provenance and sustainability of the product or service to be purchased
  • The environmental credibility and compliance of the organisations from which we purchases
  • The relative economic and environmental benefits of each product or service to be used
  • The opportunities for recycling or reusing the product at the end of its initial life cycle

Recycling and Re-use

We are committed to the concept of recycling and minimising waste where it is possible and feasible to do so.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Using recycled paper and ensuring that the process used to recycle the paper are sustainable and considerate of the natural environment.
  • Recycling paper and other materials using approved processes or through municipal sites
  • Recycling water cooler cups, and containers
  • Re-using printer cartridges

Sustainability

While the products and services that we use do not directly impact the natural environment we are nonetheless committed to attempting to minimise the impact that it has on the natural environment.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Providing alternative transport availability information to course participants and meeting attendee’s
  • Using refreshments which come from sustainable sources and which are fairly traded.
  • Using energy from sustainable sources where it is possible, and economically feasible, to do so
  • Minimising waste of resources which cause atmospheric pollution, such as heating and lighting
  • Using electronic delivery methods for communications where is it is possible and appropriate to do so

Stakeholder Support

Employee’s of Coaching and Mentoring International are expected to support and comply with the companies environmental policies and practice, and to make recommendations for environmental and sustainable improvements in working practice where it is possible to do so.

Our suppliers are expected to comply with the policies and practices that we uphold and maintain sound procedures in so far as it is possible for them to do so. In addition suppliers will be expected to articulate their own organisations philosophy, practice and procedure in dealing with us. We will support suppliers in complying with their own organisational policies in so far as it is possible for us to do so.

Members & Prospect Customers of Coaching and Mentoring International can through this policy be assured of our obligations and intentions as a corporate body, as well as membership association.

Continuous Improvement

Coaching and Mentoring International have identified several tasks and improvement measures to implement over the coming year to aid implementation of the environmental policy.

  • Ensuring that at least 60% of the paper purchased is recyclable
    Providing adequate facility to recycle paper used in day to day operations
  • Providing adequate facility to recycle water cooler cups and consider alternative solutions.
  • Considering environmental issues as part of the decision making process for new purchases.
  • Identifying the sustainability of all currently purchased products and considering more sustainable alternatives where possible
  • Ensure that, in considering environmental matters, we are not compromising on quality standards with regard to materials, communication and presentation to prospects, members, suppliers and customers.
