Coaching and Mentoring International takes professional
ethics seriously. From the original foundation of the organisation
(formerly The UK College of Life Coaching) ethics have been at the heart of our development.
Coaching and Mentoring International welcomes the counsel and
considerations of the Ethics committee on a range of organisational
issues in relation to coaching as well as business operations.
The Ethics committee meets four times a year to review the Code
of Conduct in the light of developments in best practice and standards,
to provide clarity on the boundaries of coaching with regard to
other disciplines, and to provide ongoing support on moral and
ethical issues as it may be required.
The Ethics committee is another example of the organisations commitment
to high coaching standards, quality, continuous improvement and
best practise.
Other examples include:
- The requirement to undertake Continuous Professional
Development to retain membership status
- Accreditation of courses to a high external standard and pursuit
of increasing levels of accreditation
- Requirement to adhere to a Code of Conduct
- Attainment of Investors in People award
- Involvement in shaping and developing coaching standards around
the world
- Regular review and updating of training materials, both in coach training and
programme delivery
