What are the origins
of Coaching?
There are many influences on the field of
coaching - from the familiar ground of sports coaching to push
people to achieve, to philosophical and psychological models.
Other influences include education, consulting, mentoring, training,
counselling, leadership and organisational development and personal
development.
The field of coaching is always developing. Coaching and Mentoring
International (formerly The UK College of Life Coaching and College
of Executive Coaching) are committed to raising the standards
of coaching through professional registration and continuous
professional development.
Coaching and Mentoring International
are founders of the International Journal of Evidence Based Coaching & Mentoring,
which is now published by Oxford Brookes University.
Coaching and Mentoring International also
has close links with the University of Wolverhampton Business
School who offer a Masters level degree in Coaching & Mentoring,
which Coaching and Mentoring International assisted the School to develop. |
