2005's annual seminar addressed the theme ORGANISATIONAL COACHING.
We were delighted to welcome two high profile advocates of coaching and mentoring practices within an organisational development context; both of whom spoke with great passion about how coaching had (and does) play a major role in their lives, and in the successes their respective organisations have seen as a result.
Mr Paul Turner, General Manager (People) of the West Bromwich Building Society and winner of the 2004 'Best HR Manager' at the International Business Awards. Mr Turner discussed the effectiveness of coaching and how coaching can be used in the development of a successful department, and furthermore, an effective organisation.
Mrs Pauline Clare (CBE, QPM) had an illustrious career in the Police Force, highlights of which included becoming the first woman to be appointed to the position of Chief Constable. On her retirement in 2002, Mrs Clare was awarded the CBE in recognition of her remarkable achievements. Mr Clare signalled that her coaching style of management and leadership had enabled much of her success including some tough policing challenges and significant reduction in crime.
Coaching & Mentoring Internationals Lisa Spencer-Arnell introduced the Work-Life Balance Programme to members, opening up the ready-made coaching programme as a career option for coaches. The programme has since made rapid progress to become a unique workshop in its field. The programme has captured the imagination of the members and clients, and has gained accolades such as Law Society accreditation for their members' CPD. Click here for further programme information.
