  • Introduction. Brief, appropriate, focused, coaching guidelines explained i.e. interrupting and feedback explained -permission asked for and agreed.
  • Good listening skills -
    a) focused listening apparent
    b) use of silence
  • Summarising and reflecting back used appropriately i.e. accurate and succinct.
  • Good use of open questions, use of incisive and enquiry questions.
  • Good rapport building.
  • Questions used effectively to move the client forward.
  • No evidence of coach advising, telling, problem solving. Permission asked for creative thinking.
  • Appropriate use of voice and language i.e. tone, pace etc.
  • Is TGROW model being used to keep session on track? Is commitment check done at end?
  • Good timekeeping, summarising of goals done by client, positive close to session.
