Introduction to Approved Prior Learning and Experience (APEL)
Coaching and Mentoring International offers Approved Prior Experience and Learning (APEL) as a route to becoming an Accredited Coach. You could qualify for APEL if you can demonstrate:
- that you have experience and qualifications which mean you have already covered all or some aspects of the Coach training programmes offered by Coaching and Mentoring International
- that your coaching philosophy and understanding is consistent with the values and standards of Coaching and Mentoring International
- your commitment and understanding of ethical coaching conduct
The APEL route is particularly useful for Counsellors and Therapists and Business Consultants who would like to add coaching to their repertoire of skills and services.
To apply for APEL exemptions, you’ll need to talk to a Membership Adviser, who will work with you to establish the right training route for you. If your Membership Adviser thinks that you may be eligible for APEL exemptions, you will be asked to complete a simple Application Form.
